Soap

I’ve gotten into making soap lately, partially to sate my covetous desires of all the luscious-looking soap porn on Etsy, partially because I really enjoy any activity that is like cooking, and soap-making is a lot like cooking.  Maybe baking is a better analogy.  I never bake because I hate to stick to a recipe; I can fool around with ingredients in a frying pan and end up with something yummy.  When I fool around with proportions in a bread recipe, something explodes.  Well, no soap has exploded so far but my first tray was all slimy and weird.  I had to scale back my ambitions (for now, anyway) in terms of experimentation, but I’m pretty happy with my most recent results:
